Imaginitive Recount

I learnt how to plan an imaginitive recount.

First we brainstormed some ideas on what our imaginitive recount was about. We brainstormed ideas for the main charcter, supporting characters, the main plot, and supporting events. The main character was  James(me). The supporting characters were: Billy Bob(dad), Patty(mum), Sahil(brother), Lee(cousin), and Kim(sister)

Next we made a backwards S plan. We split the backwards S into 5 sections. Reveal, event 1, event 2, event 3, and ending. The reveal started with everybody running from zombies, then the rest of the recount would be about them finding motorbikes, dying and finding somewhere to hide.

Lastly we added all of our own ideas on a google doc so we could use them to make a recount.

I enjoyed this activity because we could be creative and do whatever we wanted to our imaginitive recount.

Basic Facts

We learnt about basic facts and fact families.

We learnt that there is a difference between groups of and groups. For example if there were 20 people and they had to get into 4 groups of 5 then there would be 5 people in each group. But if they had to get into 4 groups, there would only be 4 groups.

First everybody got assinged to a time table they had to do, then get into groups of 4 that each had different time tables. Each person had a time table thay had to do. everybpdy had to have the 4 times tables, the 6 times tables, the 7 times tables, and the 8 times tables,

Then everybody wrote a fact family for each of their time table. For example 7 x 8 = 56, and 8 x 7 also = 56. So they are a fact family.

Lastly everybody used counters to show each time table and took a photo.

I enjoyed doing this task because I got to learn more of my time tables. I think that I need to practice more of my 7 times tables. But I did well on showing all of my time tables using counters.

T-ball

I learned some skill and how to play T-ball.

First we played noodle tag as a warm-up, because the noodles are kind of like bats so we used them to practice holding the bat.

Next coach Cameron taught everybody how to ball. He also told us 4 things. The first thing we did was face sideways, then put the bat and ball at belly button height. Then we pur our feet apart so we could hit the ball with more forse to go further. The last thing he told us about batting was to put our arms straight out at a contacted point.

Lastly we played T-ball against other teams and used all the skills we learnt.

I enjoyed playing T-ball becuse it is kind of like Cricket. I was good at running from base to base because I am pretty fast, but I think I need to improve on hitting the ball because sometimes I hit the T instead of the ball.
